Research & Publications

There are four levels of sustainability - personal; organizational; societal and environmental, as captured in the following W.I.S.E. framework.

Sustainability radiates through individual, organization, society and biosphere

Our research and publications focus on information useful to practitioners who are interested in business, social and environmental issues relating to sustainability. The findings from our studies are also infused into our programme designs to inform practice.

We are also interested in discoveries relating to how the practice and advances in Organisation Development can contribute to sustainability at various levels. Over the past two decades, methodologies and practices in strength-based approaches such as Appreciative Inquiry, Future Search and organizational learning disciplines like Systems Thinking have greatly enhanced the impact and effectiveness of sustainability efforts.

A growing number of government and social sector leaders are now interested in deploying such methods to enhance community and peace-building efforts. One for example is the pioneering of the Imagine Singapore social initiative using Appreciative Inquiry as a backbone methodology to bridge social divides and build shared vision for the communities in Singapore. (See Social Initiatives page for more information on Imagine Singapore).
